Research Assistant/Technician RECR Education
For proposals submitted to NSF on or after July 31, 2023, all researchers, including faculty, post-docs, graduate and undergraduate students, and other senior personnel/research techncians named on proposals to NSF must complete RECR education before engaging in research projects sponsored by the Foundation.
Initially, only Research Assistants and Technicians supported on new NSF awards are required to complete the following CITI - Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative modules in the MSU Research Associate/Postdoctoral Researcher RECR Program. The training must be completed within 90 days of initial appointment. The proposed modules are tentative at present.
Starting in Fall Semester of 2024, the plan is for RECR education to be required for all new Research Assistants and Technicians as part of their onboarding at MSU.
